Crime
Crime reached an all time high during the Prohibition Era. People created speakeasies, bootlegging, and illegal production and distribution of alcohol. People lost the respect for authority which made crime rates increase even more. Since people had no respect for law enforcement, they no longer felt the need to listen to police officers.

Failure
The Prohibition Movement ultimately failed because nobody took the law seriously. Law makers eventually realized that they could not ban drinks that so many people enjoy after a long day at work. The failure of this movement was also brought on by the upbringing of organized crime and loss of respect for authority.
